Resorts World Catskills in NY hiring more table game dealers

The largest full-scale casino in New York, Resorts World Catskills, is in need of 200 full and part-time table game dealers and will be holding open auditions and information sessions on Sunday, April 15 at 12pm and on Wednesday, April 18, at 7pm at the casino Epicenter at the resort.

Opportunities exist for both experienced and novice dealers and if hired, full-time table game dealers have the opportunity to make up to $40,000 a year.

No experience is required to train to be a table game dealer, however, experienced dealers can audition at the Resorts World Catskills Dealer School located in Monticello, New York, at Rt. 42, Thompson Square from Tuesday – Friday, from 11am to 5pm, and will reportedly be considered for job offers on the spot.

Registrants will train for core games such as roulette, blackjack, poker and baccarat for 20 hours per week for at least six weeks. More complex games will require additional training. Candidates are encouraged to become proficient at two or more of the core table games. When training is completed successfully, students can audition and interview for table game dealer positions.

Chief Operating Officer and General Manager for Resorts World Catskills, Kevin Kline, said, “These positions provide a unique opportunity to begin an exciting and rewarding career that offers opportunities for continued career growth and development,” according to the Resorts World Catskills’ website.

“At our information sessions we will be sharing knowledge and our expertise with those who are interested in a career in the gaming industry. We are actively looking for talented new team members who exhibit a positive attitude, desire to learn, and enthusiasm for serving others,” added Kline.

Interested individuals can either register online at https://rwcatskills.com/careers/ or in-person for the opportunity to be trained free of charge at the Monticello dealer school.

The $1.5 billion project owned by Empire Resorts opened more than a month ahead of schedule on February 8 and is located approximately 90 miles north of New York City at the old Concord Resort in Thompson, Sullivan County. The casino resort offers upwards of 100,000 square feet of Las Vegas-style gaming spread over five gaming areas and boasts the largest poker room of any of the State of New York’s commercial casinos. The 19-table, 171-seat poker room is open around-the-clock and has 80 dealers. Other gaming amenities include more than 150 live table games, 2,150 slot machines and a high limit slot room.
