Sportradar Partners with Netherlands Football Association to Fight off Fixed Matches

Sportradar Intelligence and Investigation Services (I&I) has enhanced its existing agreement with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) aimed at supplying integrity and safeguarding measures to the soccer association. The partnership has been expanded for several additional years. The new deal will keep the I&I division busy scouring and processing all KNVB information available in the public domain and the info circulating on the deep and dark web.

What Is Expected From the Enhanced I&I – KNVB Partnership

The KNVB has recruited these services to improve its soccer bet monitoring operations related to men’s and women’s soccer matches across the country. The same partnership is also expected to enhance the integrity measures that have been developed and used by Sportradar Integrity Services (SIS) so far.

SIS has also signed off a decade-long agreement with the European Handball Federation in an attempt to improve sporting integrity in both countries. A similar partnership has been struck with the Slovak Basketball Association and the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga, both meant to improve the monitoring of European basketball competitions.

I&I belongs to SIS, an international provider of sports integrity solutions that has partnered up with 100 worldwide sports leagues and federations. SIS is a part of Sportradar, the biggest international company that develops sports technology and immersive experiences for sports aficionados.

The I&I crew aims to supply the KNVB with periodical flagging of all potential match-fixing and corruption threats to the integrity of the organization. The main points of interest will be represented by abnormal betting patterns, match-fixing suspicions, and money laundering activities.

Both Parties Are Happy about the New Deal

Sportradar is fully committed to protecting international soccer associations and the sport itself from corruptors. Its robust integrity agreements already in place with EUFA, FIFA, and the Asian Football Confederation speak loudly about its trustworthiness and success. KNVB’s integrity officer Jan Peter Dogge highlighted the importance that the KNVB gives to sport corruption threats while expressing his confidence that the agreement would allow them to uphold the integrity of future football competitions.

By signing off the new intelligence deal, the KNVB has recognized the expertise and impressive knowledge that Sportradar currently holds.

Sportradar’s managing director of integrity services, Andreas Krannich, also commented on the undeniably large extent of corruption in sport while emphasizing the critical need for “robust due diligence measures” and proactive approaches that can tackle all aspects. Sportradar similarly and recently secured a five-year extension of its partnership with Kambi. Under the 7BALL partnership, Kambi will receive exclusive NBA, NHL, and MLB data from Sportradar.
